Introduction and Background of Restorative Practice

Following a Pilot programme aimed at rolling-out Restorative Practice (R.P) in Waterford City and County in 2011, the WRPN was established in 2014 to continue that work further.

Those leading the initiative are people who have experienced the benefits of RP and believe that the broader use of RP in Waterford City and County by service providers will benefit the people, the community and the quality of life for people living and working in Waterford City and County.

WRPN membership currently includes representatives from the Gardai, the School Completion Programme, the Probation Service, Tusla, Treo, Barnardos, WIT, Waterford Community Forum and Waterford Council.

The WRPN is affiliated to the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP)
